Before deciding what career to choose,
you need to know what your true potential really is - not
always an easy thing to know!
For example, have you got hidden
talents which have not yet come to light? This is where objective
psychometric tests can come in; they are designed to find
out what people are really like and generate objective information
that would be hard to get any other way.
Normally a range or a battery
of tests are taken and different questionnaires completed,
to give a full picture of your strengths, abilities and motivation.
The “relationships” between your test results
allow predictions to be made about the sort of environments
and work which would suit you best.
Step One uses the Morrisby
Organisation who have designed a series of tests called the
Morrisby Profile that has helped thousands of people find
a career that matches their abilities and their work interests.
Your Career and the Morrisby Profile:
What would I be good at?
What career would I enjoy?
We can help you get answers
to these and many other questions about your career options.
A large number of Careers Guidance
Services and Companies and hundreds of schools use the Morrisby
Profile as an important part of their student and adult guidance
programs.
How it Works:
The system is a combination
of a specially designed Questionnaire about your interests,
the exams you are taking or have taken, and the Morrisby Profile.
The Morrisby Profile is a series
of tests or assessments (sometimes called a Test Battery)
which together provide valuable information on your abilities
and the sort of work setting that would suit you best.
The tests are not like exams,
so there is no pass or fail and there's no need for any special
preparation or revision. The test papers are designed to be
easily read and most importantly, there are no trick questions.
All the tests are paper and
pencil and you won't need a calculator or other equipment.
It's a good idea though to remember your glasses if you need
them for reading!
Twelve different assessments
help build a picture of your personal strengths and abilities.
They don't check on what you have learnt but look at your
potential - what you could do.
The Morrisby Profile takes
just over three hours with a short break in the middle. This
may seem a long time but the results will give you a lot of
information to help you think about and choose a worthwhile
career.
What do I get?
We produce for you a personal
and detailed report. Over 16 pages we illustrate your responses
to the Questionnaire and the results of your Morrisby Profile.
We tell you about your abilities
and work style and then go on to highlight any talents that
you may not have had the opportunity to develop.
With this full picture of your
talents and interests, we search our database of more than
500 jobs and list the 12 that match your details most closely.
Then what?
You will be invited by your
Adviser to discuss your report and follow up the career suggestions
we made and any others you have thought of. Your Adviser will
explore future educational course ideas. You will also have
the opportunity to discuss your learning styles – to
help you achieve the best grades possible.
Your report can help you focus
on the careers and courses that match your talents and interests
and you will find helpful information on each of the areas
suggested.
Summary:
This program is designed
to help people understand themselves better, to gain focus
and direction, to improve their study techniques and gain
better grades. It can also help to confirm ideas you may already
have or suggest new ones. On the personal front it can help
determine the type of occupation that would suit you personally
in addition to your abilities. This will all help build confidence
and reassurance for the future.
The cost of the whole process including the interview is
£220.00 + VAT at 20%
